Tenquille Lake Cabin is Open
Thanks to our generous donors and tireless
volunteers, the new Tenquille Lake Cabin opened for public use
on August 29th. Another army of volunteers showed up
on August 27th and 28th and worked from dawn to dusk to get the job
done.
We are planning to install the wood stove and chimney this weekend, in preparation for late fall and winter guests. The attached photo shows the shutters which have been built to cover the windows during the winter. This will be necessary to prevent snow damage.
The ladder on the roof will be removed once the chimney is in place. Note the front porch which was a last minute addition but already greatly appreciated.
There will undoubtedly be maintenance costs and further additions to the interior of the cabin. Donations towards these costs will be gratefully accepted ( PWA, Box 343, Pemberton, BC V0N 2L0).
There are many more photos on the Tenquille Lake Facebook page.
Thanks again to everyone who participated.
